Sigh, my niece received The presidential award today for being an honor roll student. I cheered for her hard work but it

made me feel sick to my stomach. I posted here on DU about the first time she received the Presidential Award (President Biden) for being an honor roll student. I was so proud of her and all the other students for all their hard work and achievement. It felt amazing. Today I felt, sad, angry and disgusted.
I know these awards are not personally signed and the statement is a canned statement to all the students across America that receive these awards. However, I know that Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden really cared about the lives of these students. I am sure that their words were carefully thought out and they meant every word of it.

This is a majority black school - trump does not give a shit about any of these children.
To make matters worse, the statement he sent to be read to the students had all this talk about " a new golden age that they will be a part of".
These kids are moving on to Junior High in the fall. In a few years they will be going to college. If he has his way, these children will not be a part of any golden age. They will be " DEI" not deserving of acceptance, financial awards to universities - won't matter if they continue their excellence in academics.

I wish the school had forgone the presidential award this year. It is so disingenuous to read his canned statement about how much he and the " "first lady" admire their hard work.

Her dad is a POS. I told my sister to let him keep it at his house with that ridiculous sharpie signature . Her dad made a stink about not getting the first award to hang on his wall. He can keep this one.
