The White House on Thursday released its long-awaited Make America Healthy Again report, painting a dire picture of American childrens health. The lengthy federal assessments goal is to identify the root causes of chronic diseases such as diabetes, obesity and neurodevelopmental disorders in children.
Our kids are the sickest kids in the world, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said during a call with reporters Thursday morning.
Ultraprocessed food and environmental toxins were at the top of Kennedys list of problems that need to be urgently addressed to curb increases in chronic diseases during childhood. The report also cited sedentary, technology-driven lifestyles and the overprescribing of medications.
The 69-page report was heavy on outlining problems, but light on concrete solutions.

(55,994 posts)1) Ultra-processed foods don't help health, but tRump's cronies like pushing them for profit. He won't get anywhere.
2) Chems in the enviro: tRump and RepubliCons pushing massive de-regulation. He's going to get pushed backwards on that.
3) Sedentary behaviour: tRump's inaugurination donors depend on couch potatoes to buy garbage like potato chips and video games and streaming chewing gum for the mind. No dice.
4) Addiction to devices: Again with the donors like Zuck. Face plant.
