Nicolae Ceaușescu, Romania's former dictator. The citizens rose up against him, caught him and put he and his wife on trial. They were, of course, found guilty, and immediately hustled out back, put up against a wall, and executed. Just. like. that.
No good ever comes of dictators. Something grisly always happens to them. People just don't like them.
We are headed toward armed conflict. We could follow what the Romanians did, which was to show up in the millions and protest. After awhile, a strange thing was noted, and the cops were marching with the citizens. That's what ran the Ceausescus off. One guy, without support, can't maintain a dictatorship.
I always wonder why women go for these doomed aholes, who deal in cruelty and misery. Something lacking in their psychological makeup. If they don't get themselves killed, they are asked to off themselves in solidarity with the evil dictator. Some do. But, I just don't see it as a positive, declarative action. "Honey, you have to do it." "BS. I'm taking a suitcase full of money and leaving. You're not fun any more. See ya later."
If you go to that stupid parade, for Gawd's sake, don't give him the finger. Wear a mitten, if you can't control the flying fickle finger of fate. Just observe, and report back.

(1,411 posts)Ultimately it is going to take millions of U.S. citizens marching in the streets of Washington D.C and bringing that town to a standstill. If Trump orders the military to kill Americans, they will probably obey orders. But they can't kill millions in the streets. It will have to get to the point where Americans have nothing to lose.
