Multiple figures, walking behind each other, back of the line is a chip, front of the line, homo sapien, standing fully erect. The line shows the evolution of man. Trump moved civilization to the back of the line.

I have never been a MAJOR Borowitz fan...as a satirist, I'd say he's good, maybe very good, but not great.

But I remember seeing his pieces, one after another, during Trump's term, and he just didn't muster enough over-the-top ridiculousness to top the wretched, ridiculous things Trump was doing "in real life."

I assume his job will be even more challenging this time out.

Are we seeing the development of an American version of the Socialist Realism art movement?

Socialist Realism is the officially sanctioned style of art that dominated Soviet painting for 50 years from the early 1930s. The style and content was laid down by the state with the purpose of furthering the goals of socialism and communism. The result was a huge body of work by thousands of artists, the majority of which is stultifyingly boring and which has been mocked in the West ever since as “Girl meets tractor."
https://www.russianartdealer.com/socialist-realism/

It would seem that an officially-sanctioned style of art is developing like a repellent fungus, so far mostly dedicated to the glorification of Dear Leader. I'm a bit surprised that the loathsome paintings of John McNaughton aren't defiling the walls of the White House (that we know of). Will we soon see paintings glorifying the common folk? - the American version of "girl meets tractor," which might be more like "fat man in red baseball cap rolls coal." I can hardly wait.

Shouldn't it be Lincoln and Reagan kicking the living shit out of Trump? What the artist, if that's what you want to call him, may not realize is both Lincoln and Reagan would have utterly despised Donald Trump. Lincoln, if he was in politics today, would be on the political spectrum pretty close to Jasmine Crockett. And as for Reagan...he believed the only good Russian is one that's dead and Trump has no problem hanging out with Russians.
