Thank you for choosing me as your President. The very first item to be addressed is the Jet gifted to
the former grifter. Since it was received illegally, we are confiscating it today and billing the former
President for all updates, maintenance and flights. If the Supreme Court says I can't,
they can pound salt. It will be turned into a cargo plane to send food to the rest of the world, where
people desperately need it. If that costs too much, we will send food with whatever aircraft is available and sink the Jet
somewhere to create a natural reef. Next, everyone not a billionaire will get a tax cut and billionaires will be taxed
at 1950's rates. If they don't like it, don't let the door hit you on the way out. Since they pay little
or no taxes now, we won't miss them. ECON 101, demand creates jobs, not supply, as we know as trickle down. Next,
all firearms must be registered. If you're doing nothing wrong, you have nothing to hide. If you don't like it, go where
you can't own a gun. Didn't you wonder why right-wingers used to say that nonsense? I really don't think they thought it out.
Next, all the MAGA DEI's are fired and will be replaced with people who know what "Christian", "WOKE" and "DEI" really
mean. Next, all Cabinet nominees must present credentials to match the position they have to fill. Next, all relevant
regulations related to health and safety are reinstated and the remainder will be reinstated when each department
decides which or how they should be. Next, the ONLY words I have for the Department of Justice is, besides fighting
crime wherever it is, go after all the corruption of the last administration and you're on your own. On day two we
will begin to repair the damaged relationships with all our traditional allies and have realistic diplomatic relations
with every other country. And last and most important to regain and continue as a Democracy, strict limits on money in politics.
The buck stops with me.
PS This is a wish list, probably will never happen, but I can dream.

(4,682 posts)The Dems can't ignore what has happened. This country needs a reckoning just like Germany and South Africa did. There is no happy happy until we do.

(2,977 posts)this is one time when indictments will be in order. I won't use the word retribution, rather, justice. No more of this looking forward instead of looking back. It's time to prosecute people who try to overthrow democracy. Every last person involved: the spokespeople, the congresspeople who were too afraid to vote no, the military who followed illegal orders, the law firms who fell for the blackmail, ELON MUSK and Doge, the pilots who flew deportees to El Salvadore, the Fox News anchors who lied, every last one of them.
So if anyone ever tries this again, everyone who thinks they are playing it safe cowtowing to a dictator will have to understand it isn't safe, at all.
Following orders is not an excuse. We know this from the last time people were held accountable.

(4,682 posts)Immediately restrict SCOTUS review of laws granting and expanding various civil rights and bodily autonomy. Set up a Nuremberg-type commission to prosecute the people who broke the government. Overturn Citizens United.

(2,068 posts)but can't do it on the spur of this moment.... please excuse me.
Once I wrote one for a fictional online political senate, mid-shrub presidency,
where I had just been elected President (previously elected President on the ancient
"AOL Senate Simulation" boards, which had been closed down...)
I based my inauguration speech theme in that second online simulation,
on the words of Robert F. Kennedy SR, "to seek a newer world"....
For example, "we will seek a newer world where young children
are not murdered inside of their schools"...
We definitely need a newer world right now!
