An honest news report I would like to see

The GOP House and Senate bet their careers on Trump’s big beautiful bill. Their vote is their guarantee to the American public that the American economy will be better off in 2 years because of their decision.

Formerly, House Speaker Johnson believed that the nation’s debt was the number one threat to the U.S.
“The greatest threat to our national security is our nation’s debt,” Johnson said during his first speech in the House chamber after he was elected Speaker. “We know this is not going to be an easy task and tough decisions will have to be made, but the consequences if we don’t act now are unbearable.”
Johnson promised to establish a bipartisan debt commission “immediately,” and indicated at a press conference this past week that he was close to naming members.

Johnson has turned 180 on his core belief on the debt and has never mentioned his proposed bipartisan debt commission since November 2023. In light of the Trump bill being passed, it is clear that the GOP has no concern about the debt.
