Why tariffs are a bad idea: Trump says they will eliminate income tax, but he doesn't say that the low income people

who do not currently owe income taxes will be paying tariffs.

My gripe is that not one news organization will report that fact. That even the lowest income people will have to pay tariffs, people whose incomes are to low to be subjected to an income tax.
That is why tariffs, a sales tax is a regressive tax, the lowest income people have to pay a higher percentage of their income in taxes.

The small amount that normal people get. They won't say shit about all the wealthy cuts and will blame the deficit on programs for the poor

Trump says this was America's "richest period" because there was no income tax, only tariffs. I wish someone would point out that it was great for the few wealthy but povery-stricken for everyone else.

Awful that he's figured out how to institute the most regressive form of taxation and present it as no taxation for anybody.
