He WAS a scapegoat. CNN's been run for a while by two radical right billionaires who are Rupert Murdoch wannabes...Warner Discovery CEO David Zaslav & John Warner. THEY CALL ALL OF THE SHOTS. The "Trump Town Hall" was THEIR "brainchild." The decision to shift CNN to "Fox News Lite" is 100% on them...ALL of the "whataboutism," ALL of the inviting Republicans on to recite the current talking points unchallenged, ALL OF THIS is on the TWO OF THEM. It's a DELIBERATE shift in focus.

I discovered this shortly after the "Trump Town Hall" and haven't watched the channel since.

I recently...regrettably...parted ways recently with a guy who was a VERY GOOD FRIEND when you took politics out of the equation. We peacefully co-existed UNTIL TRUMP GOT RE-ELECTED. Then he started trolling me relentlessly on Facebook, replying to ALL of my political posts, and the replies were ALL "whataboutism."

EXAMPLE: If I brought up ANYTHING about Jan 6, his reply was "PORTLAND" (in the wake of George Floyd's murder).

It's a knee-jerk reaction. And in their minds, there's nothing that ANY Republican has done that can't be topped by a Democrat's transgressions.

It got old. Unfriended and blocked him. Hated to do it. If anyone here had met him and politics DID NOT COME UP, they'd walk away thinking they'd met a hell of a nice guy, and he was. There was some chiding on his end during the first Trump term, and he took a few jabs at Biden here and there when he became president, but the second Trump was sworn in for the second time, he got MILITANT and misplaced his "off" switch.

I've had friends all my life I could disagree with on politics, some who I could even enjoy debating issues. But this is different. None of the Trumpers know what they are talking about. They don't understand what is at stake. And they can't handle the truth if you try to tell them.
