"And now you find out what happened. Because Biden look, it's a very sad thing what happened," Trump said, presumably about Biden's recent stage-4 cancer revelation.
"But I really we're going to start looking into this whole thing with who signed this legislation, who signed legislation opening our border. I don't think he knew! I said, there's nobody that could want an open border. Nobody. And now I find out that it wasn't him. He opened it. Who was operating the auto pen? This is a very serious thing. We had a president that didn't sign anything. He had almost everything. He opened the borders of the United States of America, and I kept saying, who would do such a thing? Allowing criminals to pour in from all over the world, not just South America all over the world.
"They came in from Africa, they came in from Asia, they came from the Congo, the prisons in the Congo, in Africa. These are rough, rough people. The prisons from the Congo are empty. You know where they are? They're in this country. Who would sign this? Nobody would sign it. No sane person would sign it. You know who signed it? Radical left lunatics that were running our country and the autopen signed it.
"And they didn't want him," Trump said of Biden. "And they were disappointed in getting him because they wanted Bernie Sanders. And then after about two weeks, they said, 'Wait a minute, this is a gift. He'll do anything. We're going to use the autopen.' And they use the autopen and everything. He didn't approve this stuff because when Joe Biden was with it, he would never have approved that. You take a look. he would have never approved open borders."

The "autopen" that Donald Trump has been talking about is a mechanical device used to automatically replicate a person's signature. It essentially allows someone to "sign" documents without physically being present or manually signing each one.

(5,018 posts)have (not just the POTUS) when a news item brings in swamps of letters from constituents. The fetid fathead thinks he's unique -- that nobody on Earth has experienced what he has. Just goes to his lack of being out in the real world. Plus, he's a compulsive liar. He's stupid and ignorant, and mentally deranged.

(19,463 posts)...they never question Trump. They watch Fox and Newsmax, where Trump is also never questioned. And the citizens of Springfield Ohio sleep easy since January 20th, because the second Trump took office, Haitian immigrants stopped eating their cats and dogs.
Isn't it funny how, when you lay it out factually, you don't have to exaggerate or embellish it to make it sound like the most ridiculous thing on the planet? And the 77 million or whatever who voted for Trump go out in the world each day and interact with others, believing these things to be the gospel truth.

(124,966 posts)where they don't remember recent events, get lost, don't recognize people, can't remember words, forget how to operate a toaster, leave their glasses in the refrigerator. That's Alzheimer's. What Trump's got is something else (or maybe dementia on top of it). He's not senile, or merely senile; he's barking mad. I'm not a psychiatrist and I don't even play one on TV, but I've been around older people with age-related dementia and I've never seen or heard that kind of word salad from any of them. My mother, for example, was confused. She forgot where she was, she couldn't remember names or where she had just been. That's not Trump.
He knows where he is and he's fundamentally aware of events, people and places - but he conflates all these things and makes up completely ridiculous stories about them. Either he knows he's making shit up and he's intentionally engaging in weapons-grade gaslighting, or he's decided that these things are all true because he wants them to be true - or both. This isn't Alzheimers; it's lunacy, and it's more dangerous because his aides and family can't (or won't) manage him or hide his madness. If he were just senile he could be taken upstairs for a dish of pudding and a nap; he wouldn't have the capacity to blast out crazy shit on fake Twitter - but he's nuts and he's being enabled by bad people.

(19,463 posts)...what it looks like to me is a guy who has been a textbook sociopath for his entire life, now experiencing dementia on top of it.
There's been the cognitive decline, slurring of words, etc, but as I have said in the past, this guy is Ted Bundy-level dangerous.
And the jury's still out on the Adderall issue, as well as any other "pick-me-ups" the White House Dr. Feelgood might slip to him.

(124,966 posts)and now he's probably getting senile on top of it. He's a prime candidate for the 25th Amendment (Vance is probably privately salivating over the idea) but the cabinet members are either True Believers or afraid of him.
