"The death of truth is the ultimate victory of evil."

The speech excerpted below is fictional, from Season 2 of the Star Wars series Andor Though fiction, this speech by Mon Mothma holds some real truth for the world we live in today.

The distance between what is said today and what is known to be true has become an abyss. Of all the things at risk, the loss of an objective reality is perhaps the most dangerous. The death of truth is the ultimate victory of evil. When truth leaves us, when we let it slip away, when it is ripped from our hands, we become vulnerable to the appetite of whatever monster screams the loudest.

No matter how much you try to control information it, like light, moves faster and more subtly than gross, base matter.

Truth will prevail because it persists while deception consumes itself.

Truth and its daughter Justice will be triumphant. Even their bastard daughter Law may make a comeback.

Truth has often been defeated, as we've seen throughout history including 2016 & 2024 in the USA.

There will always be battles between truth and lies, but truth cannot be killed because it exists in every one of us. To win major battles, our collective truth must find ways to prevail over heavily funded lies. There is no ultimate triumph in this world. The struggle goes on.

Optimism and hope are essential, as is never losing our embrace of truth and justice.

It is also personal. Can any one person know the whole of it?

Lies are legion, as you said. Evil insidiously connects with the emotions of personal experience, then poisons it with lies about what a person does not know.
