Neil deGrasse Tyson:

If a foreign adversary snuck into our Federal budget and cut science research and education the way we’re cutting it ourselves — strategically undermining America’s long-term health, wealth, and security — we would likely consider it an act of war.

We have been at war with Russia since shortly after WWII. Was Soviet Union then.

I think many of us (including me) thought Russia was too debilitated to continue the war.

But I and everyone else was wrong.

We’ve been in a hotter version of the Cold War for a few decades now.

Russia has penetrated deeply into our systems and has twice placed a president on the American equivalent of a throne.

Now he and all of his eager enablers are dismantling us from the inside. Every branch of our government is now compromised. The federalist society compromised the judicial branch and the Citizen’s United decision allowed unlimited money to flow in—from any source—including Russia.

The flow of money utterly corrupted our political system. Many of the players didn’t even know what they were doing—they were just fighting to keep their very lucrative jobs and all that money sure came in handy.

The creation of a 24X7 propaganda channel masquerading as a news operation accelerated our steep decline while our physical military power grew.

Looking back on it and all the various piece parts makes me wonder if Reagan was a Soviet plant. The moves he made had such long term consequences that have led to our current weakness.

But we are at war. Make no mistake about that. With the enemy in possession of most of the levers of power I wonder how we will fight it. But the first step is to recognize that we are at war and have been for a long time. The next step is to stop believing our own bullshit and start fighting back.

AND RIGHT ON TARGET.........

And the Dems have failed to see, that the Republicans launched a war on Dems, using Guerrilla Tactics, starting with Reagan............

and in my opinion, :

The dems were walking down the jungle path, swatting at mosquitoes, and were oblivious to the herd of charging elephants. pun intended.

The perfect title for a book about the past 45+ years would be:

WHILE THE NATION SLEPT...........

And, here we are............

How much data now has new masters? Forensic accountants should be combing the accounts and electronics of ALL the DOGE Gang for irregularities.

billionaires.
They seek to destroy us. They know catastrophy is coming. They are intentionally sowing discord, crashing the economy, taking all they can, and they are going to sit back and watch the world destroy itself and they belief they will climb out on the ashes of the fallen nations.

I ALWAYS try to remind myself: that’s EXACTLY what the bad guys lust after and hope for. A dispirited America means the bad guys have an easier job. And as bummed out as this makes me feel, I am NOT, repeat, NOT gonna let it get me all the way down. Just knowing the assholes out there are hoping we’ll just make their work easier.

And THAT I will NOT do. TIL the moment they box me up and haul me away! And, maybe at that point I can haunt them and keep ‘em always looking over their shoulders expecting trouble. NO SLEEP OR RESTFUL NIGHTS FOR YOU, you fucking democracy-assassins!!!

Are there still R's who hate Russia? Are there still R's who value education? Are there still R's who want a healthy country? Is so, then dems in the mid-terms and in '28 can run directly at these concepts with no apologies and no distraction from Fox News bullshit. Whoever the Republican candidate is in '28 (Trump, Vance, some other asshole), they will be pro-Russia and pro-Putin and the Dem can hammer this every day. The economy could be in the toilet but that won't matter as the R's always convince the voters they are better for the economy---being pro-business and all. Russia Russia Russia all the way!
