The Trump administration first approached Qatar to inquire about acquiring a Boeing 747 that could be used as Air Force One by President Donald Trump, four sources familiar with the discussions told CNN. That’s contrary to the narrative from the president that Qatar reached out and offered the jet as a “gift” to him.

After Trump took office in January, the Pentagon contacted Boeing and was told the company would not be able to deliver the new jets it was building to replace the aging presidential planes for another two years, the sources said.

The Trump administration, however, wanted a replacement plane much faster, and the Air Force was exploring different options for doing so. At the same time, Trump tasked his Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff with finding a list of viable planes, a senior White House official told CNN.

After the Pentagon’s initial engagement with the company, Boeing provided US defense officials with a list of other Boeing clients around the world with planes that could work in the meantime, three of the sources said...

Boeing tells him he'll have to wait two years for a new plane. He doesn't want to wait. Why? And now he's going to make us foot the bill for renovation of an older plane. He tells us this is a gift from Quatar. He'll transfer ownership to himself when he's done with us. Why? He's seeking AF1. Nice momento. Serial rapists almost always take souvenirs. I guess the documents were just business. But what's the deal between him and Quatar? So, he located a plane that he wanted to acquire, but didn't want to pay for himself. So, he bought it with taxpayer funds, but needed to say it is a gift, to keep us from noticing? And, on top of that, we'll have to pay the "fix it" bill.

At least there is some indication that he's thinking of leaving--he'll install someone to his liking, I'm sure. If he's doing this for his "library," I wouldn't count on that lasting too long. Look around the Oval Office--look at all the gold crap he has in there. That's what his "library" will look like.

Looks like that corrupt, criminal motherfucker actively solicited the Qatar airplane bribe. Last time I looked "solicitation" of a bribe was a felony crime. Bribery itself is a crime, and soliciting someone to commit bribery is also a crime. Both the person soliciting and the person being solicited can be charged.

The federal bribery statute, Title 18, Section 201, also covers bribery and related offenses like solicitation.

use it a few months as AF-1 before the new planes are finished. The current AF-1 can't be used a few months more after being
