Let them figure that out for themselves.

I've noticed that I haven't seen FOX News in car dealership service waiting rooms for some time. I guess that got figured out.

to sacrifice for a dedication to a propaganda television. That said, I think it is still a good idea to let businesses know why you are no longer doing business with them.

Whether it's poor customer service or playing fascist 'news', tell them WHY you won't be doing business with them again.

Many places used to have rush Limbaugh on all afternoon. In rural areas you might have to drive twenty or thirty miles to get what you need. Best alternative is to just not ever go in there again. I have many such places on my list. They seem to enjoy it that you don’t like it

Doctor’s offices, grocery stores, car dealerships, hospitals , bars and restaurants……

I think it would not hurt to call the manager of one of these places that shows Fox idiocy all day long and tell them why they just lost a customer.

If you're at a gas station that runs GSTV (Gas Station TV), you can mute the audio by pressing the 2nd button down on the right side of the screen.
The commercials are still running but you don't have to hear them.
Most Circle K stations use that service, so there are plenty of opportunities to hit mute

Especially doctor’s offices/ emergency rooms etc. The last thing I want to do is watch news when I’m waiting there. I often ask them to turn it off or turn the sound down. Or change the channel, etc. My father once had a big argument with one of his cardiologists because he had Fox News on. 😹 I can’t remember what happened with that.

You did the right thing 👏🏻 It’s sad that they don’t care that they’re going to lose your business.

I'd then explain that Fox News can give me a heart attack. I don't have the stomach for propaganda TV.

I’m sure he probably said something like what the fuck are you watching that crap for lol…. They ended up being friends though, and my father went to one of his son’s bar mitzvah in Israel.

Yes, obviously he told him all of that too…that it’s not good for your heart patients etc. …when I have asked in some offices to turn the sound down or turn it off, they told me that the person that owns the building puts the TVs in there and tells them what channel it has to be on and they’re not allowed to turn it off. I said this is detrimental to my health and I don’t want to listen to this. I don’t usually have earphones, but that would be a good idea if you can block it out at least.

something so stupid, the manager (whom I have known for years) and I would be having a little chat. I am not, by any measure, their biggest customer, but most of the employees know me, and always take good care of me.

I used to drive trucks and in rural areas the best am signals carried Spanish programming, preachers and Rush Limbaugh.
To quote " they drink the sand because they don't know the difference". When you're alone for hours on end during work you'll listen to whatever is available for the human interaction. That's partially why Reublicans don't want internet service to be available in rural areas. Control the information.

that was being worked on for maintenance, Rush Limbaugh blaring on the radio, all over the farm. He was very popular among the windsmiths even though they would have been out of a job if he had his way.

I've done that with a bank and a restaurant. Both did not have FAUX blaring the next time I went in. The bank had the TV off, and the restaurant (the bar) had CNN on instead.

they just leave the TV in the waiting room on HGTV all the time or else they inevitably get complaints

Don't think with everyone having phones they pay attention to it anyway.
