Important voices are calling for a "Comprehensive National Civic Uprising" (Original Post) orangecrush May 19 OP
I think it's a terrific idea; we all ought to make it happen. Paladin May 19 #1
I can't imagine the effete David Brooks taking part in an "uprising." Martin68 May 19 #2

Unfortunate that such a good suggestion came from a substandard weasel like David Brooks...

Does the video just consist of her reading the text of the Brooks editorial?

Posting the entire editorial as text would be a copyright violation, but posting someone reading the entire editorial, or a lot of it, isn't?

Who are the "important voices" other than Brooks, and what makes his voice important, anyway?

His call is far from radical and should not be a surprise at all. He is calling for "Americans in universities, law, business, nonprofits and the scientific community, and civil servants" to stage a "civic uprising." That means the upper middle class professionals and leaders, 10% of the population, not the rest of us. Although I do think that demographic is disproportionately represented here. He envisions a battle over who gets to be our masters, that's all.
