The narrative is not going to be a debate about President Biden's cognition. I don't want to see anymore Democrats participating in this bullshit.
The con artist is in office. The con artist's party controls all the branches of government. The con artist has our economy in decline because he's a mentally unstable lunatic. Our credit rating was downgraded. The con artist is at war with our Constitution. The con artist's careless, reckless, harmful agenda is the narrative.

(98,883 posts)firing squad insanity?
Yes, I will vote Democratic, but as far as donations they can forget about it until they actually start focusing and resisting the rethug destruction of our Democracy.

(3,374 posts)Which Democratic party politicians are engaging in "anti-Biden circular firing squad insanity?" I haven't seen that.

It seems to me that claiming that they are and attacking Murphy is the "circular firing squad insanity."

(8,881 posts). . . Murphy's remarks are about nothing more than his own ambitions!

(3,374 posts)So you are questioning Senator Murphy's integrity and motives. I guess we could say that about all Democrats, with a few exceptions. Of course there will probably be different opinions here as to which Democrats are self-serving and which aren't, and I am going to guess that the debate on that topic will fall along the progressive/moderate split, as always. Then there will be a disagreement as to which side is guilty of causing the "circular firing squad," and the debate on that topic will also fall along the progressive/moderate split

(8,881 posts). . . who find Murphy's comments to be singularly unhelpful in the present moment. Quit assuming you speak for all or any of them.

(2,011 posts)Beto, Chris Murphy, and other top Democrats need to learn from the GOP how to pivot to talking points. The media is latching onto a "Biden cognitive cover-up." Many Democrats are hemming and hawing, equivocating, or saying things like, "Well, I didn't interact with Biden a lot, but when I did, he seemed fine."
No. The answer is: "The American people care about what the Trump administration is doing right now (list all the Trump catastrophes), Joe Biden gave us (list all the Biden accomplishments).
Repeat, repeat, repeat. Every time the media tries to insinuate a cover-up, pivot to Trump chaos and Biden accomplishments.
I agree with that. I don't know about "a circular firing squad." That is a loaded phrase most often used against those in the progressive wing. "Cowardice" is how I would characterize the hemming and hawing, equivocating, and so on. Maddening, isn't it?

(696 posts)While the house is actively burning down, why are we talking about whether or not a renovation a few months back was handled properly?
And if we're going to engage in What If'ism and what the party could've handled better, a way more productive conversation is the one about how we still seemed to be "caught flat-footed" when TSF was reelected? After all the campaign season talk of existential threats, not to mention the fact that we barely survived that guy's first term.
Joe Biden's cognitive state last year isn't the "confession" that anyone needs to make to the country. I feel like that's the straw man compared to the Democrat's real problems and real mistakes that contributed to where we're at. Incrementalism. Consultants. A general lack of cohesion. Literally, I feel like this is the Poseidon Adventure and we're arguing over whether the stern or the bow is the place to be.
Back in 2016, I asked what valuable lessons we learned and the answer seems to be "none." Now, if by the grace of God, we pull this one out of the abyss, the party needs to firmly grasp that we won't get a third crack at saving democracy. That's what party leaders and our elected officials need to be having a good think on.

(4,042 posts)If only all Dems repeated "republicans can't handle the American economy, republicans can't handle our foreign policy, republicans certainly can't handle pandemics. Let's be done with this republican experiment for once and for all."
We need to denigrate and humiliate to the point fewer people want to associate.

(114,393 posts)because the media are engaged in heavy sanewashing of this obviously impaired man leading a dysfunctional government.
I think they're all waiting for the election season next year, when enough of them will be speaking out in state races that the collective sanity can't be ignored completely.
I don't know how to think about this, you'd think the party would be buying adverts or something, but given the hostility of major media ownership to everything Democratic, they're probably being stymied.
Short term, we're stuck. Long term, when more people have lost businesses and the money they poured into Shitcoin because of these assholes, we might have a chance of penetrating what they call their brains. They won't heed warnings. They only notice catastrophe.
