The few employees still left at FEMA admit: they are not prepared. Not enough staff. Not enough supplies. Not enough leadership. Plan accordingly.

I'm rather happy San Diego is in a weather shadow, but LA area is going to suffer badly after the fires this winter if they get hit with even a tropical storm.

(1,428 posts)Last season they were already marching in, to provide "security," some rescues, etc., in order to try to look legit and thus gain social credit. There was coverage of some internal communications stating this as an explicit plan. (If I find the link or DU thread, I'll add it.)
Over time, this could enable militias and similar right-wing groups to get some of the state money that will be earmarked for projects formerly administrated at the federal level. Expect more cronyism, corruption, skimming, racism, and abuses of civil rights to follow
