"Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Bidens recent medical diagnosis." "We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery."
When one is a malignant narsaccist, incapable of feeling anything for others, these are words one would never formulate.
I wonder which phony, sycophant Trump enabler wrote the statement?

(13,251 posts)It was a Sunday night announcement, and we know he doesn't let him touch her anymore, so she was likely not there and shacked up with her secret service detail.
So, you're right. He had nothing to do with that statement.

(638 posts)Most of these folks have public affairs folks to handle their "light work." This probably falls into that category for Trump.

(52,216 posts)Actually, he's probably pissed because now he can't keep denigrating Biden at least for a little while.

(52,216 posts)Years ago I tended bar and as such I met some pretty bizarre characters, but never in a million years would I have envisioned them as president of the United States.
They were often so ridiculous that it was hard to imagine how they functioned day to day. Most of them were so loud and obnoxious that fellow patrons did everything possible to avoid them and like Cliff Clavin, they were experts on anything and everything.
They rarely tipped unless they were hitting on the bartender and were always looking for free drinks even if they had a pocket full of cash. Though if no one would talk to them, they'd try to buy them a drink.
And yes, people laughed at their bizarre behavior behind their back, sometimes even to their face. Unlike Trump however, most of them had SOME redeeming qualities. It all still blows my mind!

(129,609 posts)We see evidence every day that Trump's supporters in his government try to outdo one another for being petty, abusive, mean-spirited, vindictive, and nasty. The fact that Trump selected them for positions in his administration precisely because they already publicly displayed those revolting traits just reinforces that.
God, how I long for the Obama and the Biden administrations, and mourn what should have been the Harris/Walz administration.

(17,432 posts)The reporters citing the tweet may not provide any additional context, even though we have all seen the context, including the videos of cops being beaten by Trump supporters who breached the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Trump has also made a particular point of attacking Biden in speeches. It's actually rather frightening to see how bitter Trump is (and Trump's a person who is willing to send people to their deaths).

I'd say that the second the cancer was announced, SOMEONE...maybe MULTIPLE people...had to RUSH to Trump to restrain him from sending out an impulsive "Sleepy Joe" post.

(2,834 posts)threatened to be sent to one of Herr T's gulags of choice. I dunno, maybe Melania might have written it herself from wherever she's keeping herself these day. I'm not sure she's in imminent danger of being dispatched to the hinterlands unknown.
