(2,425 posts)This book coming out now is not doing anything good for our country or the Democratic Party. Tapper wants royalties and TV interviews.
Also he is helping Trump with a wonderful distraction that will take more than a week to cycle out of the news echo sphere.

(52,474 posts)of the announcement and maybe offer condolences, they had to go to "and in recent days he's been the subject of . . . " yada, yada, yada. I was so mad I was yelling at the television.

No need for a tour. Many are already disgusted with Tapper and everyone else who's been pushing this book.
Hopefully the cheap shots from our side will cease.

(1,875 posts)Was Biden old? Yes. So is Trump! Odds of getting cancer go up as you get older, we all get that, but people get cancer at all ages.
I can't stand the self-righteous "I told you so"' comments. If that is someone's first thought as how to react to Biden's cancer diagnosis, to pat themselves on the back, they can go to h*ll.
(NOTE: I'm not referring to DU when I'm talking about "I told you so" comments. I've seen some on bsky. I immediately blocked)

President Biden is a wonderful man and one of the most acccomplished Presidents. He doesn't deserve any of that. Tapper can eff all the way off.

(9,212 posts)Hopefully the others will... they will probably use this terrible turn of events against B imo maybe... I usually think the worst so, hopefully not.
What gets to me most maybe is they all(media etc.) helped psycho to get elected twice and helped him to run 3 times now and are still remaining silent that he is a dangerous psychopath etc.

(7,238 posts)Who have chosen to jump on the shit-on-Biden bandwagon in the last days, weeks or months, this is your notice. You've treated me (and many others) as ATM machines while furthering your own agendas, so from now on, go fund yourselves.
Joe Biden was the President we needed, and no matter what else, demonstrated exactly how a President should comport themselves.

(88 posts)Beto got a few licks in today and I havent been able to watch the late night comedians since they started beating him like a rented mule to drive him out of the campaign last year. He was the best president we had in many a long year. I come from a family of Irish Catholic immigrant union organizers, and I recognize the culture in his unceasing efforts to help alleviate suffering and exemplify the best of the Catholic Social Justice movement. I wept when he was hounded out of the race. I would have campaigned for him and voted for him again.

(88 posts)I havent set foot in a church since I turned 16. Religion really has nothing to do with it, its the expression of brotherhood, human kindness, I saw in the man. Everyone is capable of that, but few are willing to act on it.

(50,693 posts)I've given up on all late night television probably forever. What I saw them do to Biden was appalling. The endless ageism jokes were horrible and certainly never funny. Meanwhile, they only fed the right-wing propaganda machine. I suppose I can forgive, but I certainly will never forget.
I didn't know about Beto, but I suppose I'm not terribly surprised.

(13,516 posts)During the 2020 primaries I was one of the few Beto supporters. Thought ught he was treated very unfairly. Maybe people saw something in him I missed. Never imagined he could kick someone when they were down. Deeply disappointed.

(50,693 posts)I have to say I wasn't a huge fan. I found him rather exhausting, but I figured he would mellow over time. I never expected this.
Politics certainly isn't for the faint of heart. I know I could never survive the cruelty and disloyalty. I am amazed that such a good and decent man like Joe Biden lasted for 50 years.

(50,693 posts)Anyone with half a brain can see what a crisis we are all facing and he takes the time to write hit piece on Joe Biden. I really thought he was more reasonable than that, but I never watch CNN, so I can't be sure. I am pleased, however, to see the backlash he's gotten for that book.

(2,247 posts)It goes way back to the days when he wrote stupid pieces for Salon.
He is a typical spoiled brat private school/Ivy League dipshit. In his Wiki bio, he was said to have been a spokesman for Hooters early in his career.

The media does not want to answer for their trump licking ways of the past 10 years.
Rather than having to admit they normalized a racist criminal traitor and his fascist crew, they scape goat Joe and his supporters.
Fuck tapper and all the rest.

(21,244 posts)I'm afraid the best we can hope for is that the health news will put a little bit of a damper on the media's feverish enthusiasm for the book. But even if that doesn't happen, it will be old news before long. For now, we'll just have to hang on tight and try not to let it get us down.
