donations are way, way down. He was the main reason viewers tuned in, at least in recent decades. Tammy Faye, before their divorce, was the major draw back in the glory years.

His recent strokes and resulting sabbatical have taken a huge toll on his ministry. Neither Mondo nor Ricky have what it takes to be successors.

Jim's biological son, Jay, WOULD be up to the challenge, but I think he and his dad are still estranged. Jay has a Minnesota ministry, and he is a liberal. He would attract a completely different following than his dad.
